Editor overview
The chat, the workspace tabs and the keyboard shortcuts in the OddShed editor.
Chat and workspace
A project opens with the chat on one side and the workspace on the other. You talk to the agent team in the chat, and you play and inspect the game in the workspace.
On a phone, you switch between the two.
Workspace tabs
| Tab | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Preview | Play the current version, try phone and tablet sizes, and send an error to the chat. |
| Assets | See the images and sounds in your game. |
| Multiplayer | Add live rooms and leaderboards to your game. |
| Code | Browse the project files and edit the code. Comes with paid plans. |
| Docs | Keep notes and flowcharts about your game. You or the agent can write them. |
| Timeline | See what each turn did, and go back to a restore point. |
Saving
Your edits and the agent's changes save on their own. Before a build changes your game, OddShed also saves a restore point.
Keyboard shortcuts
| Keys | What they do |
|---|---|
| 1 | Open Preview, when you are not typing. |
| 2 or 3 | Open Code, when you are not typing. |
| Cmd/Ctrl+B | Switch between Code and Preview. |
| Cmd/Ctrl+P | Find a file in the project. |
| Cmd/Ctrl+/ | Show every shortcut. |
| Cmd/Ctrl+S | Save the open file. |
You can change any shortcut in Settings, under Keyboard.
A good build loop
- Ask for one change in the chat.
- Play the result in Preview.
- Tell the agent the first thing that feels wrong.
- If a change made things worse, go back to a restore point in Timeline.
