Refund Policy

Last updated: October 12, 2026

1. Overview

All OddShed payments are processed by Polar Software, Inc. ("Polar"), our Merchant of Record and authorized reseller. Polar handles billing, invoicing, tax collection, and refund disbursement on our behalf. When you purchase a subscription or credit pack, you enter into a transaction with Polar subject to both this policy and Polar's own terms of service.

Because Polar is the Merchant of Record, Polar may also evaluate and grant refunds directly under its own buyer terms and applicable law. Nothing in this policy limits any non-waivable statutory consumer rights you may have.

All prices are in US dollars (USD) unless otherwise stated at checkout. Applicable VAT, sales tax, or other taxes are calculated and collected by Polar at checkout based on your billing location and are non-refundable.

To request a refund, see Section 6. We will do our best to reply as soon as we can. Approved refunds are disbursed by Polar and typically appear on your original payment method within 5 to 10 business days depending on your bank or card issuer.

2. Monthly Subscriptions

Monthly subscription fees are generally non-refundable once the billing cycle has begun. Credits for that period are granted at the start of each cycle and are immediately available. We do not issue refunds for partial months of service.

We will issue a refund for a monthly charge in the following circumstances:

  • First-payment window: if this is your first subscription payment, you have not used any credits since the charge, and you contact us within 48 hours, we will issue a full refund and cancel the subscription.
  • Technical failure: if a confirmed system error on our side prevented you from accessing the Service during a material portion of the paid period and the issue was not resolved within a reasonable time after you reported it.
  • Incorrect charge: if you were charged the wrong amount, charged after a successful cancellation, or charged a duplicate amount for the same period.

Changing your mind, low usage, dissatisfaction with AI output quality, or failure to cancel before renewal are not grounds for a refund.

3. Credit Packs (One-Time Purchases)

Credit packs are consumable digital goods. Once credits are applied to your account, the purchase is non-refundable regardless of whether the credits have been spent. Credit packs are a top-up for subscribers: you can buy them while you have an active paid plan, and pack credits last 12 months.

If you were charged for a credit pack but the credits were not applied to your account due to a system error, contact us within 30 days and we will investigate. If the error is confirmed, we will either apply the missing credits or issue a refund.

4. Credits on Cancellation or Downgrade

Credits are a service usage unit, not currency, and have no cash redemption value. When a subscription ends (whether by cancellation, non-renewal, or downgrade):

  • End of period: your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period. Credits already granted for that period remain available until they are spent or the plan ends, whichever comes first.
  • Downgrade: unused paid-plan credits do not carry over to the Free tier. Purchased top-up credits (from credit packs) are retained in your account and remain spendable until their 12-month expiry date, even if your subscription ends.
  • Account deletion: you can delete your account in Settings, under Danger Zone. Everything is deleted within 30 days, and you can cancel the request until then. Remaining credits are forfeited when the deletion completes and are not eligible for refund.
  • Refunded payments: if a payment is refunded, we remove the matching unspent credits from your balance.

5. What You Are Charged For

You pay for work that ends in a saved version of your game, for builds you stop yourself, and for builds that reach their credit limit. If the agent answers with a message instead of changing your game, you pay for the model work behind that answer. You are not charged when a build fails through our fault or a provider's, for example an outage, a server error, or our own time limit, and nothing is saved. Each completed turn shows what it cost, and any credits restored to you are in-account credits, not monetary refunds.

If you believe credits were incorrectly deducted, contact us with your account email and the approximate date and time of the build, and we will investigate.

6. How to Request a Refund

Email us at support@oddshed.com with the following information:

  • The email address associated with your OddShed account.
  • The Polar order or invoice number (found in your purchase confirmation email).
  • The reason for your refund request and the relevant circumstances.

We will do our best to reply as soon as we can. If your request meets the criteria in this policy, we will approve the refund and instruct Polar to process it. Refunds are returned to the original payment method; timing depends on your bank or card issuer (typically 5 to 10 business days).

We reserve the right to decline refund requests that do not meet the criteria in this policy, involve a pattern of abuse, or are submitted fraudulently.

7. Disputed Charges and Chargebacks

If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact us at support@oddshed.com before filing a dispute or chargeback with your bank or card issuer. Initiating a payment dispute without first contacting us may result in temporary account suspension while the dispute is under review.

We take disputed-charge reports seriously and resolve most cases quickly. If a chargeback is filed and later found to be unwarranted, we may recover any associated fees from your account.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Refund Policy to reflect changes in our practices, pricing structure, or applicable law. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. Material changes will be communicated with reasonable notice.
