FAQ

See how building, publishing, credits and ownership work.

01

Building games

Can I build a game with AI?

Yes. Describe the game in a sentence and a small agent team builds it, with a first playable version in the preview within a few minutes. The result card shows whether code checks passed and whether a browser playtest ran. Then change anything by asking in chat.

Can AI create an entire game?

Yes. OddShed writes the code, draws the art you ask for, and runs the game in a browser. The polish comes from you: play it and ask for what is missing. It works best on a focused game with one clear mechanic.

What types of games can I build?

Platformers, puzzles, top-down adventures, arcade shooters, runners, idle games, classroom games, RPG rooms and strategy games, in 2D with Phaser or 3D with Three.js. Start with one clear mechanic and grow it by chat.

Do I need coding experience?

No. You describe, play and ask for changes. OddShed writes and fixes the code.

How detailed does my first prompt need to be?

One sentence is enough. Name the genre, the art style, the goal and one or two mechanics, for example: a retro pixel platformer where a moon rover jumps craters to reach a glowing portal. OddShed asks about anything you leave out.

Can I build web apps too?

OddShed builds browser games and game-like pieces such as toys, quizzes and classroom activities. General web apps, like a store or a dashboard, are outside what it makes.

Can I use ChatGPT or another chatbot to make a game instead?

A chatbot hands you code to run yourself. OddShed builds the game, reports its checks and browser playtest status, and hands you a project you can open, edit and publish.

Can I make 3D games or visual novels?

Yes. 3D games run on Three.js and 2D games on Phaser, and a visual novel works in either. Keep each project to one browser game; large Unity or Unreal-scale productions are outside what OddShed builds.

Can I make a mobile game?

Yes, for the browser: games run on phones and tablets, with touch controls built into the runtime. Packaging for app stores is on the roadmap.

02

Sharing and publishing

Can I publish or share my game?

Yes. Projects start private. Publish when you are ready, and the game opens from a link in any browser.

Can I sell or publish a game made with AI?

Yes. You own the games you make, and every paid plan exports the code so you can ship it wherever you sell. Check the licenses of any packages or assets inside, and the rules of the store you publish on.

Can I unpublish a game after sharing it?

Yes. Flip it back to private and it leaves public discovery straight away.

Can my friends play without installing anything?

Yes. They open the link in any browser and play. No install, no account.

Can I make multiplayer games?

Yes. Ask for an online game, for example a two-player tank battle, and the agent builds it with a room your friends join from their own devices. Every player signs in to join the room. Anyone can open a published game by link and play on their own.

03

Projects and code

Can I export my code?

Yes. Download the whole project as a ZIP or push it to your own GitHub repository, then host it anywhere. Export comes with every paid plan.

Are my projects private?

Yes. Every project starts private and stays that way until you publish or share it.

Who owns the game idea and project?

You do. The Terms give you ownership of your prompts, your projects and the games you make, subject to the licenses of any third-party packages or assets inside them.

Why use OddShed instead of a coding agent?

OddShed handles the engine, files and hosting, then reports the code checks and browser playtest status. You describe the game, play it in the browser and publish it with a link.

04

Credits and accounts

Is OddShed free?

Starting is free: every new account gets 100 credits, no card needed, to build games and share them by link, and every plan, free included, builds with the full agent team. Paid plans add monthly credits, code export and public library listings.

How does the credit system work?

Credits pay for the agent's work and the art it makes. Each turn is charged when it finishes, and the message shows exactly what it cost. New accounts start with 100 credits.

What happens when I run out of credits?

Pick a paid plan for a monthly allowance, and add a credit pack when you need more. Pro includes 1,000 credits/month. For a team or classroom, email us about custom team usage.

Do I need an account to create a game?

Yes. An account saves your projects and lets you build, publish and share. Players need no account to play.

Can I get help with billing or failed generations?

Yes. Email support@oddshed.com about billing, a build that failed, or a refund.

05

Safety and moderation

Is OddShed safe for kids?

You must be 18 or older to create an account on OddShed. Anyone can play published games without one, and the public game library is moderated. See our Privacy Policy and Terms for the details.

Are public games moderated before they appear?

Yes. Games pass an automated safety check, and games from new publishers are reviewed by a person. Signed-in players can report any game, or email support@oddshed.com.

How do I report a game?

Every public game has a report option on its page. Reports go to our moderation team, and games that break the rules are removed.
